Where’s the Cream?

September 29, 2019 by admin Leave a Comment

Richlands Dairy stopped carrying its Cream line milk (temporarily they hoped) because the machine that separates the cream from the milk broke down. Bummer.

I had been so metaphorically excited when I was able to get dairy fresh cream-on-the-top milk, just like I used to deliver as a milkman in Cleveland in the 70s. I would get this milk and shake it up as I did as a child because all milk used to come with cream on the top.

So I purchased the regular whole milk instead, and then—wait a minute—this regular whole milk is the cream line milk already shaken up. My having to shake the bottle was unnecessary, really. I just imagined I was doing something necessary. It’s the same milk.

But, as I am an unrepentant metaphorical thinker, I got to thinking that the GOP machine that separates the cream from the milk, the wealth from the people, has broken.

Trump broke it because he kept the cream for himself instead of pretending he was giving it to the people, as the GOP has always done. When the cream is separated from the milk and you pour it off instead of shaking the bottle, what’s left in the bottle is skim milk. And you are told its rich creamy milk, and since all you are given to drink is skim for decades, you have forgotten what rich milk tastes like. You drink the skim and say, “Tastes rich to me because the dairy says it’s rich whole milk.”

So now I ask how that dairy machine separates the cream from the milk? How does the GOP separate the wealth from the people? We should be curious, don’t you think?

First of all, the separation of wealth from the people is gradual, over decades so the people don’t suddenly notice the absence of cream from the milk. Like a frog doesn’t know it’s boiled when the heat is turned up very slowly, the people don’t notice they are drinking skim when the cream is skimmed slowly.

Second, the people have to believe that the GOP dairy is always adding cream to your milk instead of taking it away, so the GOP has us believe that the Liberals are taking away our cream, in case you notice you are drinking skim. In this way, you keep coming to the GOP dairy because they are always adding cream and the DEM Dairy is taking it away. They tell you that by keeping your taxes low you are keeping your cream.

But our life is thinning out, and we feel someone is skimming us. But now, the con is broken by Trump. He broke the GOP Diary machine by admitting he was skimming the nation to keep the cream for himself.
