Trump is an eruption of the Subjective View of reality in the same way the 60s was an eruption of the ME as center. Our western world is dominated by the Objective view that was born in the Enlightenment and created the scientific materialism that has created our material world. But this view had become prejudiced and believes it is the only view, and that the Subjective view of Me and values is fantasy or discounted.
Trump is like a political Hippie, the final triumph of ME over IT. However, he too falls into the prejudice of one view and calls the Objective View fake news.
It takes the Objective view to build a motorcycle but the Subjective view to become the motorcycle when you ride it.
Both view are valid. It is only metaphor that can hold them together simultaneously at the same time.
The Hippies wanted Nirvana without the work. Well, they have been doing the work all these decades and many of them are now bearing the fruit from their ripening. So when I connected TRump to the Hippies I was being very general and lose with the term. The Subjective View when repressed…..and here I think is the feeling of being a victim by the Right (which leans towards the subjective view of values) of the Liberals view, which is also the view of journalism that seeks just the objective facts.
So the Right in its leaning towards the Subjective view is like the Christina who feels they are the victim of the secular humanists. However, we don’t understand that this objective view of secular humanists has built the civilization we now enjoy. When we reject this view, we revert to tribalism (ah, and that’s where the hippies were, wasn’t it).
So in this way Tump is a Tribe of subjective values. Everything is measured by value terms: great, biggest, tremendous, huge, giant, etc. Trump is about the forgotten ME, the forgotten Me generation. From Tea Party to Trump was not a leap. In this tribe Story trumps objective facts. Story gives you meaning.
Trump is in a double-bind. He feels powerful and in his SPOT when he is in campaign mode among this tribe and extolling his greatness like Mohammed Ali…I’m the greatest. When president he is a manager, and he loses his center and his vitality that he derives from his center. Like Sheldon Cooper he has to be in his Spot. Truth for Trump is what feels right. This is a 60s Subjective value.
