The Zen of Faith

May 12, 2017 by admin Leave a Comment

Faith Mind is the door to Creative Thinking, the Way through Uncertainty. There is no surrender of On/Off thinking without Faith. Faith gets you past the Cherubim’s flashing sword that guards the Tree of Life. It’s a narrow gate, so narrow that you have to suspend thinking and the Thinker to get through.

Faith is the aroused mind that does not rest on any form, internal or external. Faith does not rest on belief because belief is always in some form, something that is known. Faith is the portal of the unknown, so it leaves the known behind.

Faith is the end of trusting False Idols. Idols of thought and form are impermanent, and when they begin to topple, Faith steps in like a gyrocompass to restore truth and trust, not in what has died but in what is being born. God is both the destroyer and the creator. Faith is trusting that destruction is also creation.

And this brings us back to on/off logical thinking. Faith transcends on/off thinking by seeing that On is Off and Off is also On. Reality is not one or the other but both simultaneously: Life is creative; life is on/off. From the OFF a new ON is created that contains the previous on/off. Faith unites what On/Off discriminating (judgment) divides.
