Remember that movie the Sixth Sense. The boy sees dead people. He sees people who think they are alive but they are walking dead, dead to the patterns that rule them, dead to the roots that grow their tree. I see roots. And that is because my primary interest is seeing the roots in m own life. Nothing makes me more excited that being the robin that pulls up a root worm. I hope around with my head cocked listening for living roots in my earth. And when you see the roots in your own earth you see them all the earth. The earth is one earth. Mind is one mind. One forest, many trees.
The Sixth Sense (the movie is a metaphor) is Listening and Seeing. Listening and Seeing takes no effort. You don’t have to use a muscle to see and listen. If you are interested in Seeing and Listening, you must stop making the effort to see and listen because when you make effort to see and listen, you are interesting in seeing something specific, something you may have been told is there and you should see it. If you don’t see the old Hag, try harder. And the more you try, the less you see. But when you relax the effort, the Sixth Sense is activated and you that root cause of your discontent, your root cause of being the walking dead.
