Prometheus Bound is about having to steal your power from others because you don’t believe or have faith that you already have the power, your innate power that cannot be taken away from you. If you don’t have that faith, they are are going to either create relationships where you take the power, steal the power, or loose your power. When you are firmly seating in your center, in your power, in your Spot, you don’t need to steal it and you can’t lose it. So how does one get seating in their Power?

The Buddha and the Christ both demonstrate, both model the way to surrender to your innate power that you already have. Since we already have our creative power, when we seek it, believing we don’t have it, we create karmic tape loops were we circle our selves in a vicious circle of ritual behavior that is unconscious. Consciousness is Power. Seeing is Power. When you SEE you are not caught in the whirlpool of trying to steal your power or get it back from the thief.

The myth of Prometheus is about a god who stole the power from Heaven and gave it to man, and for this he was chained to a mountain top where the vultures ate his liver during the day and it healed at night. This is a metaphor for the incoming and outgoing tide of creation and destruction; what one hand of the Goddess gives during the day he takes away at night. In all the myths this giving and taking is a metaphor for life. The day you get all your bills paid and you are sitting pretty the car breaks down. One step forward, two steps back. The cycle of karma or Ground Hog Day.

We are bound as Prometheus when we don’t have faith in our innate power and goodness, so we believe we have to earn , work for acceptance, become good enough to get to the tuna factory (remember Charlie the tuna) Some day you will be worthy of power, but first you have to try harder. You have to steal it because we can’t live without our center, without our unlovable Spot, without our power. All power comes from our center, our spot that cannot be moved of blown down by the winds of the world or washed away by the currents of the ocean.
