Where’s the Proof is a spin on the old Reagan commercial Where’s the Beef? When it comes to Trump’s collusion: Where’s the Proof? That is the refrain. So lets look at why there is no proof. We need to realize there is a confusion of perception going on here. Lets use the metaphor of the Ant Colony to flush out this problem of Proof.
The problem is between looking at the parts of a system versus looking at the system itself. When you look at each individual part, you can’t see the whole system or organism. The system is transcendent of the parts. In order to see the whole system, the parts must become metaphorical: they have to point to the individual part and at the same time point to the. whole system that controls it. Part pumping into each other give rise to the cause and effect truth. But cause and effect does not detect the system, yet each part implies the system because the whole is within each part.
The parts are like behaviorism in psychology. Just the parts, just the parts. Just the facts. Don’t infer anything. Yet the system or whole must be inferred from the parts. Evidence is going to be circumstantial because no single observed part can have a causal connection to the whole system from the view point of the part as something standing alone.
The Russian invasion is like a foreign ant colony that looks like our ants mixing with our colony: one system mixing surreptitiously with the other. Something strange is happening but we can’t figure it out because all the ants look like our ants. By connecting the ants, one can begin to see the outline of the invading ant colony. Where’s the Proof? is a failure in being able o see the system, a failure in being able to see metaphors.
