Oh, I got into it today, trying to trace back to ancient Persian mythology, Zorastorism. to the first appearance of absolute dualism in the history of man. The Jews who were held captive in Babylon imbibed this view and incorporated it into their Bible and world view, which all three Abrahamic religions, Islam, Christianity, and Judaism did.
The view is the the world is a mixture of Good and Evil, Light and Darkness created by two gods, and a cosmic war is in progress during which the Light side will win over the Dark side, though the aid of a prophet born of a virgin at the end of time, and there Light will be triumphant and the dead shall be resurrected. BAM…the end of time, a final resting place. This mythology has been morphed into our political system, so the Party of God is at war with the Party of Darkness so that eventually one the Party of God will be left standing.
We can see this view working everywhere in are efforts to purify the world of imperfection, which is. your wrong view, so that only my view is left standing. This mythology is being reenacted in every walk of life, even in our own life where we are at war with discomfort, and we put all our efforts into removing discomfort from our life, buying the next savior product that gives us hope that this will be it.
