Theseus and the Colonoscopy

July 5, 2017 by admin Leave a Comment

In Zen everyday mind is enlightenment, and my everyday mind is preparing for a colonoscopy tomorrow morning. Since I can’t eat any solid foods I’m doing without my olive in the martini. I read the instructions and it didn’t say anything about not having a martini.

How can we integrate an upsetting surprise with our broken plans. Life is full of these train wrecks, from poop on the floor to cancer. How can we integrate the surprise with our expectations? We have to come to the realization that the surprise is the match that lights the wick of our broken plans and creates Insight or a creative Idea. When the surprise is the trigger for creativity, our life changes for the better. If we meet the surprise with blame and anger, then our life changes for the worse.
