The Lions Roar that kills victim hood is the Seeing that as a victim you have also been the abuser. The relationship of the victim/abuser is a mirror reflection where each reflects the other as the victim and the abuser. When viewed objectively by a third party, a judgment will be rendered by evidence of physical abuse that one side is the victim and the other is the abuser. But that does not end the Relationship that holds you hostage. It just kicks the relationship down the road when you appear in another relationship that is the same game plan. The only way to end the Victim/Abuse game is to see that you are both sides of the relationship, a mirror reflection of each other.
This is the Lions Roar of the Buddha’s Awakening, the SEEING through and through that you are ONE, not two. Caught in the unconscious relationship of victim/abuser, you are not ONE. You are Two, the ONE that is split into two halves, and this is a wound that won’t heal. The wound in the side of Christ, if you will, the crucifixion. The Resurrection is the SEEING of the ONE that is two, the SEEING that you have been playing both sides of the Victim/abuser game board, but identifying with only one side. Yet, each side of the game feels they are the victim of the other.
What we are interested here is not justice but SEEING the whole of it, seeing that I am both sides of a relationship. How do I know that I’m held hostage by a victim/abuser game? It becomes a repeated ritual that causes suffering and the vow not to do it again, which is part of the game. The game has a life of its own.
The Lion has always been the symbol of the Sun God, and the Sun is the symbol of light and Seeing. The light sees everything. The lion’s roar is the roar of seeing the Truth, the Whole Truth which is seeing in a sudden grasp, a satori in Zen, that I’ve been playing a game. The seeing of the game is the end of playing the game, and when we stop playing the game, we then awaken creativity and a new way of relating to the world without being a victim of the world. Instead of being the created, the victim, we become the creator of our world. The Lion Roars.
Suffering is the mother of SEEING. By SEEING (capital letters) I mean a sudden seeing that blows your mind. AHAH! or Eureka! or WOW! What was dark is now clear. What was fog is now sunshine. Your reality is now One reality, not two, a clear and an unclear, a light and a dark, sunshine and a shadow. SEEING is absolute clarity. And you know it because energy is released, the energy that was conflicted in the confusion of not seeing. Release energy is joyous energy. We always leap for joy when we break through the impasse. The impasse is always the split in the mind that sees the world as Two instead of One. Seeing is the One, the birth of the One that transcends the two and sees the original unity, the Oneness of everything.
