The purpose of Zen is to arouse the Hot Iron Ball of Doubt that gets stuck in the throat: you can’t swallow it; you can’t cough it up. You will do anything to escape this torture, even work with Democrats.
When congress is in alignment with the Dharma that is the Constitution, bipartisanship and compromise is what makes good policy happen. Both parties need each other in this dialectic of progress. But when one party is removed from the court, no one wins because all you are doing is bouncing your ball against the wall, just playing with yourself. America advances through the play of opposites. How did it happen that the GOP stopped playing the game? What went wrong? Lets look.
The GOP made the same mistake with getting into bed with Trump that they made with Southern Evangelicals. Neither can be controlled. Each has their personal agenda that does not align with the agenda of the Republican Party. The Christian Right has the religious agenda of making their value America’s values, and Trump has the personal agenda of making his values America’s value. The Religious Right longs for a savior, and Trump longs to be America savior, the who fixes America. But no one can fix America unless Americans work together in their two representatives parties.
