The Benefits from Mindfulness

I almost strangled on my martini…but I was mindful. I’m sharing my inner landscape here, my secrets if you will, that gives me a seat in the timeless where the energy pours through in inexhaustible streams of writing and talking. How to you tap this spring? The wellspring lies within you. The spin of pure potential is within you. But you have to look for it. You have to have the Idea that it is there, that you can dig for this treasure, just beneath the surface of our opinionated idea of reality. The map is wrong. The treasure does not lie in the future but now within you…go for it. Watch Indiana Jones, if you don’t believe me.

My mindfulness has brought me to a place where I am aware of the movements of my mind, and therefore not trapped in thought and their sidecars of emotions. While I may experience stress (rarely) I am free because it doesn’t stick. There is nothing for stress to take root in. I don’t invest in stress. Mindfulness liberates awareness—which is who you are—from the forms of the mind, from the operating system of the mind that is one’s conditioning. Mindfulness frees you from the mind conditioning that creates the karma of Ground Hog Day.
