I do feel better. I actually got rid of a contracted state of mind during this talk. I pissed on it. It had no value anymore. That’s what letting go is all about. Seeing that no form has any lasting value. The clinging to states of mind (which is mental formations) is the cause of our suffering, says the Buddha. The value is not in the state of mind but in our clinging, for the Ego is a Klingon. WOW..I just say the hidden meaning in that Star Trek characters. Cling-On. That’s what we do to out painful mental states that are our crowns of thorns. The crown of thorns was put on the head of Jesus…mental states of pain and suffering…and he found no value in them, so they were just some brambles. This crown didn’t prevent the Resurrection which comes when you piss on the thorns. You see…this is the secret path to liberation. The path of Zorba the Greek.
And the beauty of it is that pissing is just pissing. You don’t do it in stages. There is no gradual means to the end here. You just do it. (unless you are 80 like me and the stream slows down). It is a natural act. You just let go
Whatever you hold seriously, what ever you cling to as a savior, as a life ring in the river of life…piss on it. Let go…and flow with the river of life. You will float. You will not drown. Let go. This is the Tao, the Watercourse Way.
I deleted my Christian friend’s comments here because they distracted from the message of liberation from suffering, from the resurrection, instead of hanging on the crosses of the mind. We are all hanging from the crosses on Mount Gogaltha, yelling at each other for our crucifixion, blaming each other like Laurel and Hardy: “This is a fine mess you gotten me into. ” Well, I don’t choose to hang from the cross on this mountain blaming everyone and the world for my pain.
