New Moon and the Unicorn

April 15, 2018 by admin Leave a Comment

New Moon and the Unicorn weaves mythology and legend and Enlightenment and just getting unstuck from Ground Hog Day all into one talk. Hold onto your seats. Today in the New Moon. We have just been through the dark night of the Soul, which is the three day tomb/womb for the lunar cycle (which is the mythic symbol of Jesus as the dying and resurrected son of the Virgin (the Earth Goddess)…Oh, it all connects in a beautiful mosaic of inspiration if you care to look beyond the finger nail to what is being pointed at.

And what everything mythological and metaphorically is pointing as is the Unicorn within you, the Transcendent Principle that comes into you as Grace or inspiration, that bean of light from the Eternal Sun that penetrates the dark forest, into the womb of the Virgin and you give birth to the Christ…and you earth garden, your world, blooms with flowers and fruit. You have returned to the Garden of Eden when you find your Unicorn. …but first you have to die…first you have to empty…first you have to become a Virgin empty mind…first you have to surrender…..and then God’s Grace will come and lay his head in your lap, unable to resist the aroma of the Virgin.

The capture of the Unicorn is akin to the Zen Ox tales where one trails and then rides the Ox of transcendence. In the Life of Pi the Unicorn is the Tiger and Pi learns how to capture the Tiger, which means live with it without being eaten. How does one live with Life without being eaten? How do you find balance with a Tiger? How do you find the Philosopher’s Stone or the Holy Grail….of, simply, how do you find true love?

We live in a terrible wasteland that has been wiped clean of our heritage. Western man has lost his mythological roots when the modern age was born out of the mythic womb of the Middle Ages, and we wiped our past clean of myth and transcendent symbols that linked us to the Totality. We are now lost in a space/time grid of science and rational reductionism that sees everything as a thing. When you believe you are a thing, all you see are other things trying to dominate you. This is the mythic fall from the Garden of Unity. But we are returning home. The Newtonian world view in which everything is a thing that is governed by mathematical laws has been discovered to be limited. The modern universe of things is becoming transparent to a vast universe of interconnectedness. There are no dancers (things); there is only the dance.
