What does the unknown smell like? All we have in culture is the known. Everything is recycled known. Culture Pops with recycled What’s New! After a moment or to, the excite wares off and it is thrown into the pile of the known. We live in a mountain of the Known. But the Scent of the Unknown is both terrifying and exciting. We are attracted and repulsed. Culture is the security of the Known. But our inherent nature, our human soul is to explore the unknown. Mind is held hostage by Culture and the tape loop of the Known. Our heart, however, smells the scent of the Unknown and is attracted. This creates a double-bind between the Mind of the Known and the Heart of the unknown. What should I do? Then we oscillate between the Known and the Unknown. We seek relief in entertainment, drugs, therapy, whatever. But we can’t find the Unknown, our true heart’s desire, in the Known.
Movies like Wonder Woman come along and solve the dilemma. We get the Known—the movie is just a movie—but we get the adventure into the Unknown, without leaving the Known! We get our cake and eat it too. We get to keep the security of the known and get a taste of the wonder of the unknown. The unknown is Wonder!
While we watch the movie Wonder Woman we are enthralled with wonder. We have never seen such things before. But all the while we are sitting in our safe living rooms. Security and adventure are One. But they are incompatible. You can’t have them both at the same time unless you watch a movie. Culture trumps.
Culture keeps you in its womb giving you the illusion of birth into a new and wondrous world. Here, suck on this pacifier, Culture says giving you a new movie. Culture creates portable thumbs, like smart phones so we can suck on the New without leaving the Old.
But who dares to leave Culture? Not physically, although some try that and go live in the woods in a cave, but who can leave it and still live in it?
So movies are dreams to wake up by. Myths are collective dreams to wake up by, all our ancient myths that rationality has wiped from the slate of Culture. Modern Culture is clean of myths. When we are born we are given an eraser and told to wipe the board. The last to go is Santa Clause.
So we live in a myth less world. All is created by random chance. You are just a fluke. If the universe was a monkey and pounded the keys of creation for infinity, it would come up with you. That doesn’t feel right. I am unique! I just wish I could wake up to that. Well, Wonder Woman did. Je Suis Wonder Woman.
Wonder Woman is You awakening to your true nature, that which is prior to culture and its conditioning, prior to culture’s brainwashing that you are just another thing is a hostile world of things, all trying to do you in. You are THAT which include both your little mind and culture’s big mind. You are the chicken before these two eggs of little egg and big egg. You are That before the duality of Culture where you are programmed to feel you are outside of your own experience of your self and the world. Thou Art That. Je Suis Wonder Woman.
