Trust your Body Knowledge

September 10, 2017 by admin Leave a Comment

This was a good talk about our Body Knowledge, or in a Zen context, Buddha Nature, Zorba the Greek , or that which is prior to our intellectual/emotional idea of who we are that is dependent upon our cultural indoctrination, or brain washing, if you will.

When Jesus says be in the world but not of it he was pointing to Body Knowledge and world knowledge. Our World is an abstract semantic language world (watch the Matrix) in which we as an image live and die. The Kingdom of Heaven is a metaphor for Body Knowledge, or the Garden of Eden prior to the knowledge of culture, which is what the apple represents. We have to be amphibious, like a frog able to live in Body Knowledge and in Idea Knowledge which is the culture that we must live in, unless you go live in a cave in the forest, but even then you will take you Idea or Cultural reality with you. We can’t live in either pure body knowledge or pure Idea or Cultural world…we have to swim in both.

But there is the shift in paradigms. Body Knowledge Isi our Primary Knowledge, and Idea/image reality is secondary. Our culture makes Cultures reality primary and reject or represses Body Knowledge. That’s why women have an edge over men because they are closer to natural body knowledge then men are. Men discover body knowledge through their tribe or team, while women discover body knowledge biologically. The body knows how to birth a baby. Hospitals or culture don’t. The body knows how to heal itself; drug companies do not. Culture’s is totally invested its its own survival; Body knowledge is totally invested in the body’s survival. These two interests are not compatible or in sync in our civilization. When we surrender out inmate body knowledge to Cultural Knowledge, we become sacrificial to culture. We die in order for culture to live…but Culture is an abstraction. It is not REAL. Ands herein lies our discontent, our feeling that we are, our nation is, mankind is…out of sync.

It is cultural’s interest in our not seeing the truth but to blame others within the matrix of the culture. Culture like the cup that holds the changing soup, never changes.

Suddenly in this talk my whole past path of seeking through philosophy, religion, Christian mysticism, yoga, guru yoga, running my own business, Buddhism, and Zen….come into focus, or the context comes into focus with this simple Single Idea of Body Knowledge. But remember Body Knowledge is not a word, a concept, because the menu or the concept is not the living reality. You have to DO body knowledge. But here’s the rub, you can’t do Body Knowledge as a means to an end, because Body Knowledge has no future. You can’t find Body Knowledge in the future because you are living in your body right now, always already right now. So Body Knowledge is always right now. You already are Buddha Nature (which is another metaphor for Body Knowledge which is a metaphor for Just Do It!

This is the pathless path, the dateless Gate, the Kingdom of Heaven which is already here…that we can’t find through the gate of culture or religion, which is also culture. Religion holds the metaphors for Body Knowledge, but the symbols are acculturated into the region so the symbols just keep the tape loop of religion going so you never drop out into Body Knowledge. In Religion Body Knowledge is the Promised Land in the future. You never get to to promised goal. Which creates a backlash of disappointment, like when you get angry with a trust is broken, with culture/religion, but we don’t see the true cause of our anger because we are looking with the eye of cultures, from within culture and not from the Seeing of Body Knowledge. When we see through the Eyes of Body Knowledge culture is transparent and there is no problem, no question even.
