Your pain is also pleasure

“Whenever there is negativity in you, if you can be aware at that moment that there is something in your that takes pleasure in it or believes it has a useful porpoise, you are becoming aware of the ego directly. The moment this happens your identity has shifted from the ego to awareness. This means the ego is shrinking and awareness is growing.” Ekchart Tolle (from The Power of Now)

We experience negativity in the mind as pain, the unpleasant. And so we avoid it, try to separate ourselves from this thorn by blaming it on someone or conditions. When I see deeper and notice the “secret” pleasure, I have stopped avoid the pain. We don’t avoid pleasure. We go towards it. What I have essentially done is stop the avoidance of the thorn by cause I see that at the same time I’m embracing the thorn, the pain as pleasure. Now it is not negative thought/feeling but negative/positive.

These ambiguity stops bot avoidance and attraction. I am neither running away from or going towards. Now there is an oscillation between pleasure and pain because I cannot choose one without choosing the other.

Just as a battery contains and holds the positive and negative pole, this unity of opposites held in Seeing generates the energy I need to transcend both poles of pleasure and pain. SNAP! I See Now As Perfect! The One that is Two.

I can hear the ancient Vedic mantra:
Om Purnamadah Purnamidam Purnat Purnamudacyate
Purnasya Purnamadaya Purnamevavasisyate

That is perfect;
this is perfect;
From that perfect this perfect came;
From that perfect, this perfect removed,
What remains is perfect.
