Track Big ME

April 14, 2018 by admin Leave a Comment

“The ego doesn’t know that the source of all energy is within you, so it seeks it outside. It is not the formless attention which is Presence that the ego seeks, but attention to some FORM, such as recognition, praise, admiration, or just to be noticed in some way, to have I existence acknowledged. Ekchart Tolle (from The Power of Now)

One tracks the Ego as if it were Big Foot. I track my Ego in my everyday world where it is hidden in plain sight. I spot a spoor when I notice the imprint of a dislike. I see a big toe when I notice some slight. I run my fingers over the print of a heel when I notice myself contract. On the hunt for Big ME, I become a Sherlock gathering evidence so that one day I can catch myself in the clearing, exposed to the sunlight— no longer hiding from myself as I am.
