Pain is my guru

“Accepting means you allow yourself to feel whatever it is you are feeling at that moment. It is part of the is-ness of the Now. You can’t argue with what is. Well, you can, but if you do, you suffer.” Eckhart Tolle (from The Power of Now)

Buddha says Life is suffering. Zorba says life is trouble. Life is pain, life’s Tabasco Sauce. Everything has loss or pain in it. Loss is pain. Everything is impermanent, everything is dying, breaking up, running through our fingers like sand. Where can I go that pain is not, that loss is not?

Accepting means allowing myself to feel pain and loss. When I allow myself to feel the pain of loss, I don’t blame the pain on another. When I don’t blame the pain, nothing is left but Just This. I. have no argument with myself. Accepting is healing.
