A Zen Master was asked how he got enlightened and he said by watching my cat. I practice surrender when I write to these Tolle quotes. When my fingers do the writing, I find that is a state of grace because I’m relieved of being the doer and worrying about what people will think. I offer no resistance to the quote.
We really need to create practices where we can play with surrender in our life. Meditation is such a practice. You offer no resistance to the mind. Art is a practice of surrender. While I’m not an athlete, I would say sports is a surrender. Going to a movie is a surrender to the movie. Dance is a surrender. Taking care of a loved one is a surrender. Marriage itself is a surrender. When you think about it, life if full of Surrender the practice of not thinking. Death always remains the final surrender that is beyond thought.
