From Eckhart Tolle’s The Power of Now: “The modalities of awakened doing are acceptance, enjoyment, and enthusiasm. Each one represents a certain vibrational frequency of consciousness. You need to be vigilant to make sure that one of them operates whenever you are engaged in doing anything at all—from the most simple task to the most complex.”
Whenever none of these modalities are present, you are going negative. Non-acceptance is turning away from the present moment or Resistance. That results in non-enjoyment or unpleasant feelings about who you are and what you are doing. And the lack of enthusiasm is boredom or looking for a better moment elsewhere. When you notice that you have gone negative; that noticing without judgment is the portal to awakened doing.
That noticing of your “gone negative” is not negative. Noticing is Seeing. Seeing is neither negative or positive. Seeing has no feeling component. One should be vigilant to notice your suffering when it rises, but a vigilance that is not a reaction, an attempt to turn away from your negativity, because…that turning away from your own negativity is the cause of your negativity. Negativity is the effect of not Seeing. Seeing or Knowing is your true nature.
