This is interesting, the idea that the situation has no meaning, that it is “neutral.” In Buddhist terms, that means the situation is empty of meaning. Form is empty. Our mind paints situations with meaning with the brush of Thought. Our paint bucket is our collective and personal past, the Bucket of the Known. The Situation Canvas is empty. We add the meaning, live in the meaning, and reacts to the colors we have added. No wonder we paint ourselves into corners.
