Caught in the web of time?

March 5, 2018 by admin Leave a Comment

“Notice how often. your attention is in the past or future. Ask yourself: is there joy, ease, and lightnesss in what I am doing? If not, then psychological time is covering up the present moment, and life is misperceived as a burden or a struggle.” Ekchart Tolle (from A New Earth)
_______________

Before I ever heard or read Krishnamurti when I was in my 20s, (1960),I still remember the mind shaking Idea that I was not my thinking. When I discovered Krishnamurti in 1968, his teaching helped me see that thinking IS time, psychological time. Thinking is mind movement, and movement is time because it can be measured. The IDEA that I was not my thinking is Stillness or Being aware of itself was a mini- awakening of That which is timeless, our true nature.

An Idea that reshapes our life is not a thought— thinking will come it and talk an Idea up, for sure. When thinking is believed in, the Thinker comes into existence that is a Time Traveler whose attention is in past and future. Tolle Awareness bypasses the dysfunctional net of thinking that snares us like a fly in the web of time. Don’t be caught in the net of thinking.
