“Any external conditions that are being resisted tend to shift or dissolve quickly through surrender. It is a powerful transformer of situations and people. If conditions do not shift immediately, your acceptance of the Now enables you to rise above them. Either way, you are free.” Eckhart Tolle (from A New Earth)
There are no “external conditions” that are not internal conditions. What I experience as external is my internal conditions. Failure to recognize this unity of I and IT is resistance. Recognizing ro seeing this unity of I and IT is surrender. You can’t consciously resist yourself. One hand cannot consciously resist the other hand.
When I SEE through and through that the burning sensation is my own hand on the hot plate, that SEEING and the action of lifting my hand off the plate is one action. I don’t think I should take my hand up. Seeing and action are ONE when the mediator of Thought and the Thinker are not creating a separation between internal and external conditions.
This separation is like the Church—or science for that matter— becoming the mediator between You and God (Unity). All mysticism and the transcendental paths bypass the mediator and go directly to God as the Ground of Being. Tolle Teaching bypasses the dysfunctional mediator of the Thinker as an sense of separate self and goes directly to the NOW or the Ground of One’s Being. When the dysfunctional media is bypassed Seeing and Action are One.
