The Koi Pain Body

The  Pain Body as described by Eckhart Tolle is like koi fish that rise to feed when a situation or person triggers it. When the Pain Body is sated, it recedes and you are left wondering what just happened. A sign that you have a pain body is an exaggerated emotional reaction to a situation.

This talk is about finding metaphors in your everyday life that can open up the can of suffering buried in your landfill and release the pain and shame. Connecting this to the Myth of Theseus and the Minotaur, you can stop feeding the Minotaur your pain—which is what the pain body feeds on—when you become aware that you are doing it. But you need a can opener of awareness, which is what a good metaphor can be for you.

The Time Piece

My father’s time piece keeps me centered in the heart that is the center of time. When you are centered in the timeless center, you are in sync with the hands of time. Time comes out of you instead of you being in time. You can be both in time and out of time.
