But let me be. up front there. I use Trump as a metaphor for us. Je Suis Trump. I use Trump in my talks and writing as if here were a great character in the American Novel, our Shakespearian Character.. Our Hamlet. To Flip or not to Flip, that is the question.
Listen to the talk because I don’t feel like explaining it here so you get off the hook from listening. I don’t know if this insight will help you, but it certainly helped me.
Shakespearian characters all have a Fatal Flaw that leads them into the tragic downfall. Their strength becomes their weakness. Trump’s strength has been his ability to sell himself and his projects. Now that is his weakness because in selling himself he avoids the obvious truth that everyone sees.
I like the Google Image of the yin/yang flip flops. When the pair-of-opposies are separated you create time by stepping on one flip and then the other. But when you stand still, your restore the original unity of you/world. You are in balance. But when we walk flip flopping along trying to arrive at the unified whole or yin and yang together, we never arrive at Truth because we separate the flip from the flop in time. STOP! Just stand still.
Today was my best Trump Talk I believe. The news media is consumed with the enigma of Trump. He defeats all logic. But in order to understand Trump…and myself…I need to understand the powerful trap of the Double-bind where one is caught between two opposite choices or forces unable to choose one or the other, but you must. So we choose this Flip and then we choose the Flop, hoping that each choice will stop the flip/flopping through time, the painful division of Me into two contradictory forces.
