“God dwells in you as you” said Swami Muktananda when he came to the West in the 70s. That view changes everything. Where can you go that You are not. Where can you go that God is not. This Idea changed everything. I was no longer in exile, I was no longer looking for the Father. But there was so much work still to do, so many decades to travel.
A funny religion said a Zen master concerning Christianity. “God against nature; man against God; man against nature.” What are the unconscious paradigm that shape our reality and the search for the Absolute or the Idea that explain everything. Is Christianity a religion of exiles? And what about the East; Hinduism, Taoism, Buddhism (Zen)? I went there to come in from the cold. I went there to end my exile. What did I find?…It’s all One.
AT breakfast we were talking about lemons and my wife thought they would be out of season, and then we realized that in our amazing food network, nothing is out of season. Lemons come in from wherever they are in season. Everything is always in season somewhere. We have created Paradise, a place where everything is in season and brought to our table. Our on/off way of thinking has tried to recreate paradise in form, a place where everything we need is always at hand. But Paradise Gained is always Paradise Lost, because when paradise is ON, it is also going OFF.
