When we cling to the symbols of the civil war, we are still clinging to the war, and when we cling to the war we reenact the war in new forms, new generations are born to pick up the battle flag and charge the aggression (not of the Yankees) but of modernity and integration. not of African Americans per se but of decency and understanding. The Confederate flag is a symbol, not a history but of a regressive movement, a rip tide of the unconscious mind that threatens to pull us away from the shore of progress into an ocean of anarchy.
It’s too bad that the battle flag has now been grafted onto nazism, but that’s the way the evolution of fear and hate evolve.
Men have always found meaning and power by belonging to a rebel tribe, a Brave Heart who stands fearlessly against the oncoming Red Coats of regimentation and conformity. These are the rebel sons of God, the sons who dare to go against the Father’s Will (society) and dare to steal the Fire for their own bonfire. The raised arm is the hard penis. Men get off on being angry, on the Crusade against an imagined tyranny they have invented so that they can have a rebel tribe. This Rebel Tribe is the home for those whose development has been arrested, and who are trapped in adolescence, the state of perpetual rebellion.
Men who join the Rebel Tribe live in a live action movie. This is a mythic mind on the of the Hero who will die for his cause. Reality has become their Story. Trump has led the way by himself living in his own mythic story of the messianic hero, the superior being, who has come to restore the world.
Nazism and the Confederate Rebel are about the Mythic Hero who will not surrender to adulthood and social responsibility. They are trapped in their own movie and cannot wake up. So many ways of looking at this movement, but one is that this is a quest for meaning and a meaningless modern world. We all want to be hero’s, Brave Hearts like in the movies. Most of the US population finds its meaning and wonder and aspirations in movies, which are our myths. We act out our myths in rituals of violence. This movement is myth in action where Story trumps reality. Why go to a movie when you can act out the movie in real time. The blood on the soil must be real for the myth to feel real.
The Catch 22 of the NCP (Nazi, Confederate, Patriot) is that the more you confront it with an opposite energy, the stronger it gets. The more blood on the soil that falls, the more blood is asked for. Nothing excites blood that seeing blood. There must be continued sacrifice in a sacrificial myth. Wafers and wine no longer do; you want real flesh and real blood in the Last Supper, when you jump on the Last Shadow and face the enemy in a battle line. When you stand your ground in the face of the Red Coats or the barbarians (depending on which side of the battle line you are on.)
And today it is all being filmed for our heroes really time movie. We are going to be on TV, holding our ground against the Storm Troopers of Star Wars. We are the rebels against the Death Star. We don’t need to go to the movies anymore for our heroes; We are making our own movies now. We are the real time heroes, and that cut on my face is my blood on the soil, my blood sacrifice, my glorious wound of battle, that shows I am a Man.
The Catch 22 is that these movements are self feeding storms that grow in the warm water of the Media. You can see the ritual in it. Media is the field upon which ritual war takes place. Mass shooters are a ritual. Police violence is a ritual. NCP is being ritualized. Any behavior that repeats itself becomes a ritual, a reenactment of a mythic story where both sides get to play the Hero.
Take BLM. The black person is the hero, the police are the hero. We are living in a Catch 22 of the Hero Myth being played out on the Media Field as if it were Shakespeare’s theater. Only we have forgotten that we are just actors in the myth. In the Glove Theater of Shakespeare, the actors knew they were acting. Today the actors believe they are real.

Blood makes the myth feel real. Blood brings the body into the game, otherwise it’s just a video game. Death makes the myth real. Death also wakes us up from the video game….Oh…WOW…this is real. Death wakes us up for the TV reality show we believe is real.
How does Trump fit into this. Trump is a mythic man, a man who lives in the myth of himself. Trump is a mythic character invented and sold by Trump the self-loathing little man. Trump the Myth is like a giant Buddha…WOW…Awesome. Trump is larger than life, hotels larger than life…So Trump is the Mythic Man who lives in his own myth, so of course he is the hero of the NCP (Nazi, Confederate Patriot) who also lives in their mythic kingdom where they too are larger than life, a rebel army raised to save the world. I didn’t think the racist element is that important. The message is in the Rebellion, not the content. The Rebellion will create the enemy it needs, and any handy enemy is food for the Rebellion. And the greater the enemy the better…nothing stirs the blood of the Rebel but the Lost Cause. The Rebel Hero says I Fight because it is impossible. I Fight because I can’t win. Oh…what a glorious death I will have.
