Today’s Tolle Quote:
“Very unconscious people experience their own ego through its reflection in others. When you realize that what you react to in others is also in you (and somethings only in you), you begin to become aware of your own ego.”
Okay, instead of seeing Trump as someone who doesn’t fit the presidency, lets look at Trump as a metaphor that can liberate us from our own ego reflection in the mirror of the world. Trump as metaphor can restore us to our original wholeness. Let’s look. What is the Zen of Trump?
We all have a degree of unconsciousness, or That which we are not conscious of. Consciousness is whole, so as a whole reality what it doesn’t see is transcendent of reality, or what one is conscious of. Yet…the categorial imperative is LET THERE BE ONE. There must be One consciousness, and that means consciousness is driven to be whole or inclusive until not one trace of unconsciousness is left, not one shadow is left. Let there be light!
Therefore, the drive of consciousness is to eat up the unconscious…but what if one resists willfully because of clinging to the reality or world in which you have fixed yourself. This fixed position is what can be called the Ego. As a fixed position, the ego resists the drive of its own consciousness to eat the unconscious and become the One that is conscious or Awake.
Our Pac Man obsession with eating, with consuming is in reality the creative drive of Consciousness itself. Consciousness of life—life is consciousness or Knowing—is an ever expanding drive to include that which doesn’t fit, that which is not Me. So…we eat and eat. But all this eating is the Drive of Life on a physical level, which means it can only be understood in its totality through metaphor. Pac Man is a metaphor, an abstract game formula for the Drive of Consciousness to include the Other.
The Presidency is a Role or Office that serves as this function of inclusion. The Presidency is the One that keeps including all the American People, like a mother includes all her new children. She excludes none of her children. So the Presidency is like Pac Man in that the Person/Office keeps including opposites in order to come up with creative idea that advance the whole. That is what a creative Idea or policy is: this single Idea solves the dissonance of asymmetry, or two incompatible realities. A creative idea creates a new reality, a new America, a new history.
This Role requires that the human who assumes this crown surrenders his ego frame of reference (what it is for me?) and dies into the role, and therefore assumes the greatness of a Lincoln, who actually did die into the role.
What greater valor that to give up your life for others. That is the Role of the Presidency, not giving up your physical life but your ego life. For the time that you are president, you are the Divine Role, but when you leave office, you are must another human like us. But while in the Office, you have the charisma of the Office, the Power of the Office which is greater than the power of any ordinary human being. That power will be abused to the degree that the candidate does not surrender to the office. No surrender, great abuse.
With Trump we have a person who strength lies in his not giving an inch, never surrendering. His strength in the office where power comes through surrender to the office is now his weakness. Everything he does that in the past made him a winner, now makes him a loser.
