Our dominant, if not only way of thinking is logical On/Off thinking. This binary thinking builds computers and our comfort civilization, but it has limitations. When On/Off fails, we descend into a vicious vortex of Panic. When confronted with ambiguity, on/off thinking is impotent. When no choice is certain, we seek the savior of the authority that convinces us that it is certainty. But who do we call when Certainty fails? Lets look at the Crisis of Certainty.
Science is our last refuge of Certainty, but Quantum Physics has made even the foundations of science uncertain. That is just a sign of the Crisis of Certainty our civilization —that has been built on On/Off thinking—is going through. It began with Adam and Eve (metaphor) when they discovered there were good and bad apples. In Unity Awareness there are just apples. But in discriminating thinking reality is divided into good and bad. We chase the good and flee from the bad. We have come to the end of this road and now stand at abyss.
Trump is a metaphor for this. There are fact and alternative facts. The dilemma is that now two realties confront us. We must choose one truth, but we can’t because each is mutually dependent upon the other. This ambiguity is a dilemma when we are going to be punished if we don’t choose, but we can’t. What’s the punishment? The destruction of the earth through our on/off thinking or nuclear destruction. This crisis is the failure of Thinking. But what is thinking? Is the choice either thinking or not thinking? On/Off thinking would say it is.
When we say we are Lost in Thought, that is so true. We moderns are literally Lost in Thought or Thinking. When thinking rises out of the whole—when you are quietly alone in nature and someone yells your name—you create yourself as the thinker and begin thinking about this interruption that yanked you out of the bliss of not thinking. Thinking, which is language, is an abstraction of reality. Thinking is the menu not the meal. Thinking divides the meal into names and forms, and then we like the beans but not the broccoli. The menu is always better looking than the meal, so we eat the menu and pretend we are eating the real food.
The dinner table is the easiest place to observe how thinking creates the Thinker that we believe is who we are. There is just food before it becomes good and bad food, food that is divided by names, food that has a knowledge base about it, the whole history of that particular food. Why you can get a PHD on any food. But prior to that thinking, there is just food.
Just food is the Garden of Eden before Adam names it and divides into good and bad food. Every moment we are Adam naming the reality being given into good and bad forms of reality. Every moment through On/Off Thinking we exile ourselves for the Garden of Unity.
The Way out of the dilemma of on/off thinking that like a computer freezes up is Creative Thinking, which is not thinking at all. Creative Thinking is thinking no thoughts. Thoughts, you see, come from our memory of the known. You can’t think of something that has never existed before because it has no name. We think in reference to the past and the known. But when the known becomes ambiguous and uncertain, thinking goes in tape loops of worry and anxiety. It is only with the surrender of Thinking that the Creative Idea is born that both transcends the dilemma and creates a new idea that contains the ambiguity. This ambiguity like positive and negative poles then int his new Idea, creates free energy that is available for use, like a battery. A Creative Idea is self generating energy. Instead of energy going down the drain hole, the Creative Idea—a new business is a good example of this—generates energy and expands instead of contracting. A creative Idea reverses loss into gain.
