The Zen of Bundy

Out of the flatland of secular Liberalism the tribal Romantics mount their horses and raise their battle flags to attack the great Beast. Are we in a romantic age of knights and heroes where manhood is rooted now in a Lost Cause. In order to be a Romantic, you have to fight the Beast. In order to have meaning there must be something worth dying for. Meaning for the Romantic is in death not life. Life without death is meaningless.

Tribalism is on the rise, and a Tribe is united by its Story of Reality, a reality that must have a Great Beast, or enemy. Like Brave Heart (the movie), the enemy is the regimented robotic Red Coats who march like a machine against the True Humans. The Internet is the media male upon which Romantic Tribes can rise and connect, creating a magnetic center that draws iron filings from the country into its center, into the meaningful death.

Tribal war when ritualized becomes sports. Media creates a new arena where social tribes can be created for combat with the Beast, the Federal Government.

Lets put on a wide angel to see what is the root of this rising Tribalism where the Story dominates the Facts. Media Reality—which is what we live in now—is like a bathtub full of water. A Tribal Story happens when you pull chain of a drain plug and a vortex forms in the water that draws everything in the tub into it. An event like the Bundy Uprising draws flotsam from all over the tub. Instead of just floating around, your are organized around a Story of Valor.

Today the ongoing Trump analysis keeps dividing Trump into Campaign Trump versus President Trump, and when in trouble, Trump reverts to. Campaign Trump. This is Tribal Trump; this is where Trump gets his power as Center. When not Center Trump, he loses power, and without personal power he can’t be president. Trump is caught in a double-bind. He can’t be president unless he feels his personal power, but he can’t feel his personal power unless he is outside of government as a campaign against the government.

The can only be One Son, but Trump is divided between the Good Son (president) and the Rebellious Son (campaigner). He can’t be both at the same time, yet he must.

Trump created a Trump Tribe just like Bundy created a Media Tribe of Patriots against the Government. The Tribe exists only in opposition to the. government. But now as president the Tribe is the whole nation. Trump can’t be president of his personal Tribe that is anti-government and president of the people/government both at the same time.
