The Holy Spirit is my friend. I am using Holy Spirit as a metaphor that points to a particular name or definition and, simultaneously, at the universal process of transmuting duality or stress into wholeness. The movement is from ambiguity to unambiguity, from unconscious to conscious, from death to life, from fragmentation to wholeness. The whole Christian message, the Good News, is that you can transmute your stress, your suffering into Oneness with the Father/World through this magic formula. And this ally or muse or guardian angle can be called the Holy Spirit, if you want. Or you can name it something else. The name doesn’t’ matter. It’s the verb, not the noun that is the action. It’s not the content of the cup but the cup that holds the soup.
The Alchemy of the Holy Spirit is your true potential to transmute this moment of stress and confusion, this ambiguity into the unambiguous present moment..the Now of “Meditations on Eckhart Tolle” or the Just This of Zen. The names differ but the Process, the Synthesis is the same because it transcends all religions, paths, and philosophies.
The best metaphors are taken from our everyday art (TV and movies). MacGyver is a metaphor for the formula or process of integrating a fragmented world into a tool that allows us to escape a fix. MacGyver uses the world that is given to transcend it, to be free.
