The GPS: metaphor for Liberation

If you like navigating on the GPS you will be happy to know that it is a metaphor for Awakening, a shift of your center of awareness from time to the timeless, from space to the spaceless. All of the non-dual wisdom of the ages can be found in the GPS as metaphor. My 100 year-old mother once said “I’m happy because I have no time.” What did she mean by that? We think we are happier when we have more time, time to get rich, time to make love, time to forget, time to heal, time to get something, time to get away from somewhere….time…time…time…

The Renaissance witness a shift in perspective or view point. The art of the Middle Ages was flat with no depth, then suddenly there was depth, yet the canvas was still flat, but a third dimension suddenly appeared. Same flat world but now it was 3D.

A new renaissance is required, a new shift in perspective and view point because our world has once more become flat, without depth, meaning or purpose. We need to see the Vertical Dimension that gives our everyday mind and life depth and meaning.

AT the end of the talk I get to the Christ, my favorite stopping place, but Christ as metaphor, not an IT in time. Christ as metaphor is timeless and formless…therefore, you are Christ and Christ is you when you live in the center of time, in the empty hole of the present moment of Now that is no time. You are that point of now that has no circumference, therefore no time.

The Vertical Shift is like the shift from a caterpillar to a butterfly; suddenly the worm can fly. There is no way for the worm to know what it’s like to be a butterfly, and the worm can’t crawl in time to its butterfly nature. There must be a surrender to the unknown, the unknown potential in your as Buddha or Christ Nature. You just have to give up being a worm without any certainty that a butterfly exists. There are no maps for the worm.
