Is America’s Virtue Divided?

America is the Unborn

I continually enquire into the divisions in America Culture, this civil war, this crack in our Egg that keeps being translated in new way with each generation…up to now. Are the Millennia’s going to lay a new Egg? They are the first generation to have grown up with a laptop in the womb. The paradigm in which they perceive and interpret reality is different than that of the Baby Boomers, who were born with a boom box instead of a computer. So we may be working out the after birth of our old civil war of a divided American. America has been from its inception like Siamese twins who fight each other to be the One who is born. The Whole Baby is divided like Solomons answer to the two mothers each of whom claimed to be the mother. America is the Unborn right now.

But the New Baby is an unknown. We don’t know what it is going to look like. We can’t Restore America to an old baby. All our old babies have grown up and died, or are in the process of dying, or just retiring like the Baby Boomers.

But the Birth is going to happen. A New America is growing in the womb of our discontent, one that is close to birth, and that in itself creates fear because there is no certainty about what it is going to be. Will it like me? Will it honor and respect me? We don’t know.

That is the wonder of birth. It is always a surprise.

America has always given birth to itself. The Declaration of Independence was the first cry of the new infant. Yet, even in that birth, there was some remnants of the old world hanging on, slavery and the pyramid of white male supremacy, the God/man, the individual king of his own castle or plantation. The Plantation was a feudal kingdom just like in the old world that America thought it has left, its old parents.

In this feudal Plantation everything was integrated through the Eye of the Master, the Eye at the top of the pyramid like on our dollar bill.

The Paradigm of the New Baby was a circle of people who were all equal in the circle and willingly gave their power to a government of representatives who would act in the accord of all the people in the circle.

In the pyramid there was no such social agreement. The god/man was the wise and the most capable of governing the microcosm of the larger world. The South was made of little kingdoms just like the feudal system of England. England when through its civil wars of people versus the crown.

And so the American Baby was not completely born yet. There was an umbilical cord to cut that was still attached to the womb of the old world.
