In order to see the patterns that control me, I have to let go of my Story that holds ME in place. In order to see the patterns that dominate us, we have to see the forms of perception metaphorically. The Forms then become transparent to the transcendent, which is the patterns or games we play.
Quantum creates the Zen puzzle that an electron is either a particle (form) or a wave (pattern), but which it is depends upon the instruments of perception that perceives it. Prior to perception, it is both form/formless. Lets us this as a metaphor for understanding our own puzzle of consciousness: Who am I?
Am I a fixed thing in space, or am I a pattern, a game, an unconscious wave that has no fixed location. We are conscious of fixed form but unconscious of form’s patterns in time. We are conscious/unconscious. This unconsciousness Buddha calls ignorance. To move from unconsciousness. to consciousness you have to become aware of your patterns, which means from an unfixed viewpoint.
This talk is centipede with many legs. It goes to the heart of our suffering, the wound in consciousness. When logic confronts the illogical, we have anxiety. Certainty is in question. Choice is not possible. We don’t know who we are. Everything is in question when the underpinnings of logic is pulled out. The underpinning of logic is Artisotole’s Law of Identity, which is the logic of science. Everything is what it is. A cannot be A and Not A both at the same time. But ambiguity says it can. An electron is both a wave (formless ) and a particle (form) at the same time, yet it can’t be.
When we ask the question: Who am I? Logic is going to fail us, and panic will have a foot hold. The worm has legs.
